The Beatles arrive in America

On February 7, 1964, the Beatles landed at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, an uproarious crowd estimated at three thousand greeting them.

The Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show beginning on February 9, 1964, where they performed their number one hit, 'I Want to Hold Your Hand', which ushered in the British Invasion in the United States.

The Beatles appeared in three consecutive performances in 1964 and the broadcast drew 73 million viewers.
