'Physically and tactically dominated' Simon Grix gives frank Hull FC verdict as update on injured trio given
Simon Grix laid out the 'men vs boys' nature of Hull FC's latest massacre, with Salford Red Devils 'physically and tactically' dominating his depleted and inexperienced side to record a 58-4 victory at the MKM Stadium.
Putting Hull bottom of the Super League pile, the below-par Black and Whites were well off the pace to compete with Salford, who secured their play-off position with a thumping 10-try win. Hull, meanwhile, succumbed to their 24th defeat of the season, with another abject performance rooting them to their latest fate.
Speaking post-match, Grix offered a frank assessment of Hull's current situation. "We knew we would be up against it today with the number of blokes missing again," he said. "We had loads of different combinations, people playing all over the place, and then injuries in between happen because you're getting dominated, and generally, when you're getting dominated, that's when you pick them up.

"We lost three blokes there, which is not helpful. It was men against boys, and physically and tactically, they were all over us. It's just where we are; I can't come on and dress it up for you every week; it's the same thing. We've got the team we've got, we've got the players available what we've got, and we are where we are. We've got to grit our teeth and keep going."
As for the injuries, Grix confirmed a knee setback for Davy Litten, with the severity still to be determined. Elsewhere, Ed Chamberlain suffered a blow to his shoulder while Brad Fash limped off with an ankle injury. Carlos Tuimavave was also missing through illness, having been named in the 21 earlier this week.
"Davy looks like he's tweaked his knee, which is disappointing," Grix said. "He's done a lot of work to get back, and it's gutting for him. Ed is his shoulder. He did it a couple of weeks back, and he's been struggling with it. He put his hand up to play. We needed him. Unfortunately, he didn't get through it.
"Fash was playing out of position in the back row, and he's rolled his ankle. That doesn't look too good either. Generally, when you're getting dominated, these things come, and whatever can go wrong does go wrong. Carlos was illness. We'll get in on Monday now and see what's what."
