Pick-up truck crashes through Kent Indian restaurant wall and into house
A pick-up truck crashed through an Indian restaurant's outside wall and into a house in Kent this morning (November 29). The photograph, above, shows the aftermath of the collision beside a busy A-road at just after 7.20am.
The popular large curry house, the Blue India, in the village of Langton Green in Tunbridge Wells, is next to one of the busiest routes into the town, the A264. The restaurant said the vehicle had driven through its wall and into the property next door.
Bricks were sent flying, at least one of the ornamental urns was shattered and the strut for the restaurant's large entrance canopy was smashed away. But the restaurant building was not damaged.

Kent Police was there as shocked locals walked past the destroyed front area of the attractive restaurant, which is near a bus stop. The friendly staff at the Blue India are well-known by customers and it is popular with locals and customers from further afield.
The restaurant posted on its Facebook page this afternoon, saying it would be business as usual. It said a pick-up truck had "driven through the restaurant wall and into the house next door", adding: "no damage to the restaurant main building, so we are open as usual."
A Kent Police spokesperson told KentLive: "We were called at 7.22am today, after a VW pick-up truck collided in Langton Road with a wall outside a restaurant. The vehicle also caused damage to a neighbouring residential property.
"Officers attended and there were no serious injuries reported. The driver was taken to hospital as a precaution."
The Blue India does free home delivery and there is a 15 per cent discount on all collection orders. The restaurant has 4.5 stars out of 54 reviews on Tripadvisor, with the latest review saying: "Excellent as always. We go back to Langton once a year to see family and always visit the Blue India. The food last night was better than ever. There is always a great welcome."
