The market town of Wimborne Minster, located on the confluence of the River Stour and the River Allen, has an old-school charm amplified by one of the most extensive collections of 15th, 16th and 17th buildings in Dorset.

These buildings include the church of Wimborne Minster, the town hall, the Priest’s House Museum and plenty of old shops and pubs.

One of Wimborne’s big attractions comes in the form of their model town - one of the largest and longest-established in England. The model is based on the town in the 1950s, when it was built.

The construction was completed at a 1:10 scale, making the model several feet high.

The town enjoys an annual civil war reenactment, the folk festival, a regular market and the biennial Alive in the Park event.
