The latest batch of images show Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander getting a postcard from Paris (but from whom?) where the new film is largely set, and then Newt and Jacob (Dan Fogler) on the streets of France's capital in 1927, one year after the events of the first movie.

Meanwhile, Newt and his love interest Tina (Katherine Waterston) are looking more than a little worried about what's behind them in this photo...

Earlier this month, we were given a glimpse of Jude Law's Dumbledore, who's pictured in an office with a mystery man behind him – a man who many social media users are speculating could be the one and only Nicholas Flamel.

AKA the man who discovered the Elixir of Life and co-created the Philosopher's Stone with Dumbledore.

And having escaped MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America) custody, Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) is also pictured on the streets of Paris with alongside his loyal follower Vinda Rosier, played by Poppy Corby-Tuech.

At a fan Q&A last year, Yates dropped some serious hints about the Parisian road ahead, saying: "We next see Newt in another big capital city. It's not going to be New York. It's somewhere else entirely!

"[JK] has actually written the script and it's just as magical and just as marvellous as the first one - but very different. Which is so exciting for all of us!"

He's also promised a "grittier" film that is "more nuanced and detailed" than Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

"The first film had a level of whimsy; the characters felt like children in grown-up bodies," he said.

"In this movie, it gets grittier and more nuanced and detailed. It's quite a romantic film, it's a thriller, it's quite an interesting combination of genres you rarely see together. I think it will surprise people."

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be released on November 16, 2018. Watch a trailer for the first movie in the Harry Potter spin-off series below...
