In Pictures: Remainers and Brexiteers descend on Parliament for 'Not Brexit Day'

Thousands of Pro-Brexit supporters and Leave voters descended upon Westminster on Friday, March 29 – the UK’s original departure date from the EU.

Ministers in the House of Commons rejected Theresa May’s meaningful vote for a third time, while thousands of demonstrators flooded the capital.

Some cheered when it was announced that the Prime Minister’s bill had been defeated – while others were left fearing it meant a new EU referendum was now on the cards.

Protest groups included the March to Leave which started in Sunderland two weeks ago and was joined by Brexiteer Nigel Farage near Tate Britain.
