British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met Muslim lawmaker Nusrat Ghani after she was fired from a ministerial position in 2020 regarding claims of Islamophobia and he later invited her to make a formal complaint, his office said on Sunday. LONDON (Reuters) -Britain on Saturday accused the Kremlin of seeking to install a pro-Russian leader in Ukraine, and said Russian intelligence officers had been in contact with a number of former Ukrainian politicians as part of plans for an invasion. The British foreign ministry declined to provide evidence to back its accusations, which came at a time of high tensions between Russia and the West over Russia's massing of troops near its border with Ukraine. Moscow has insisted it has no plans to invade.
Germany's navy chief stepped down on Saturday after drawing criticism for saying Russian President Vladimir Putin deserved respect and that Kyiv would never win back annexed Crimea from Moscow. "I have asked Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht to relieve me from my duties with immediate effect," Vice Admiral Kay-Achim Schoenbach said in a statement. Schoenbach made the remarks to a think-tank discussion in India on Friday, and video was published on social media.

A man’s early winter morning mission to take out the garbage in Bettendorf, Iowa, on January 20, took an unexpected turn when a meteor soared across the sky.This home security footage shows Bill Morrissey wheeling a bin down his driveway at around 6:47 am. The fireball zooms across the sky and disappears behind a house across the street. A south London business owner has been fined more than £8,500 after selling a skin lightening cream which could cause severe burns. Adetola Amao, the owner of New Hair London in Woolwich, was fined a total of £8,515.50 by Bexley Magistrates’ Court after she sold the illegal skin lightening cream to an undercover trading standards officer in the midst of lockdown. The sting, which took place on February 18 last year, then led to 105 cosmetic products being seized from the shop a week later.
