In pictures: Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017 finalists
All creatures great and small featured in this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, which saw almost 50,000 entries from 92 countries.
The annual showcases selects the best images based on their creativity, originality and technical excellence.
The overall winners will be announced on 17 October at the Natural History Museum‘s stunning Hintze Hall.
The competition was first launched in 1965 by the BBC Wildlife Magazine. In 1984 it joined forces with the National History Museum and has been running every year since.
