In pictures: World Press Photo of the Year 2019 winners revealed

A powerful image of a young girl crying while being detained with her mother by US border officials has landed the top prize as World Press Photo of the Year.

John Moore, a photographer who focuses on immigration and border issues, won €10,000 (£8647) for his picture.

Prizes were also given for the best pictures from individual categories including sport, nature and environment photography to name a few.

All of the nominated pictures will be included in a year-long exhibition that will tour around the world.
