Pierce Brosnan has endorsed Tom Hardy as the next James Bond, saying that he could put “a bit of wiggle” into the role.
“Daniel Craig has been an incredible Bond,” he told the The Mail on Sunday’s Event magazine.
“He’s very physical, he looks lethal. You genuinely believe this is someone who could kill a man.”
Brosnan said Craig will do the next Bond film, and Hardy could play the part in the following installment.
"I think Tom Hardy could be a good Bond. I'd be happy to see him do it. You need an actor who can put a bit of wiggle into it - that's what makes Bond."
Brosnan said it took him years to come to terms with being dropped as 007 after his run in the role.
He also laid into US President Donald Trump, saying since he came into power he is seriously considering “moving back home” from the US to Ireland.
“That man has tron this country apart and you have to work out how much longer you can stay here,” he said.
Brosnan is due to return to cinemas on 20 July when the musical romcom Mama Mia! Here We Go Again is released.
In the film he sings and dances in the role of Sam Carmichael, an Irish-American Architect.
The next Bond film is currently due for release in the UK on October 25 next year and will be the fifth in the franchise to star Craig.
