It's Harry Potter Day, and while most of us are indulging in butterbeer ice cream and cauldron cakes, Piers Morgan is spending the day having a go at JK Rowling on Twitter. Because that's what Piers does.

The Good Morning Britain presenter has positioned himself as the Grindelwald to Rowling's Dumbledore in recent years, rowing with her over politics and becoming the victim of her ingenious holiday traps.

On this very special holiday, the 20th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, JK took a moment on Twitter to thank her readers for changing her life all those years ago.

"20 years ago today a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others. It's been wonderful. Thank you," he tweeted.

Leave it to Piers to ruin the moment, as he responded by insulting both JK's writing and the millions around the world who love the Harry Potter saga.

"20 years of conning the easily mesmerised masses with execrable literary hogwartwash," the presenter tweeted, adding sarcastically: "Congrats."

If that tweet wasn't salty enough, Piers also had a laugh about the release of a YouGov survey of Harry Potter fans - which found that Donald Trump and Piers himself are the public figures most like Slytherins.

We'd suggest looking over your shoulder, Piers. JK might just send the Dementors after you any moment now.
