Piers Morgan has revealed he is still battling long Covid symptoms weeks after he claims to have caught the virus at Euro 2020 final.

The presenter, 56, asked Twitter for advice in “getting over” the condition which is affecting nearly one million Brits, according to latest ONS survey.

Piers Morgan wrote: “Has anyone had long covid symptoms of fatigue & loss of taste/smell for 10 weeks or more and then fully recovered - if so, what did you do that helped get over it? It’s getting very irritating..”

Among his fans, one follower appeared to give Morgan some hope. He wrote: “I did… Jan caught covid, was off my feet Feb and March but just slowly got out and about, fresh air and pushed a bit more each day...

“I’m running the London Marathon week on Sunday so something worked!”

Mr Morgan replied: “Very encouraging - thanks” with a thumbs up emoji.

Other followers were less comforting with “I stopped being a pr*** and was fine, try that.”

Piers fired back: “Don’t think you stopped though mate, did you...”

Another fan wasn’t quite so optimistic replying he still hadn’t recovered after catching the virus last October.

He wrote: “I was in ICU for 11 days, had ten weeks off work. Now suffer long covid, tiredness, breathlessness but can still smell my farts unfortunately.”

Piers had had both doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine but began to have symptoms two days after the Euro 2020 final.

His symptoms included a raging fever, chills and violent coughing and sneezing fits.

He said he believes he caught the Delta coronavirus variant at the sellout game between Italy and England.

The latest ONS data shows being double-jabbed almost halves the likelihood of long Covid in adults who get coronavirus.

Fatigue was the most common symptom (experienced by 58 per cent of those with self-reported long Covid), followed by shortness of breath (42 per cent), muscle ache (32 per cent) and difficulty concentrating (31 per cent).

It comes as Mr Morgan bagged his first TV job since he resigned from Good Morning Britain.

The presenter will return to the small screen on News UK’s new TV channel, TalkTV, which is launching in early 2022, it was revealed on Thursday.

Mr Morgan left Good Morning Britain in March earlier this year over comments he made about Meghan Markle’s bombshell Oprah interview.

He has said he chose to resign rather than apologise to the Duchess of Sussex.

Since then, OfCom cleared ITV over the presenter’s remarks which sparked a record number of 58,000 complaints.
