Piers Morgan blasts 'stick insect' Jesse Lingard for saying he wants to punch him

Piers Morgan blasted “stick insect” Jesse Lingard on Twitter after the England footballer joked he would love to punch the controversial presenter.

Lingard, 26, made the admission during a game of Shocking Answers with Sport Bible after he was asked: “If you had to punch a famous person, who would it be?”

Lingard replied “Piers Morgan” without hesitation as everyone in the room started laughing.

Morgan warned Lingard to “cut the Mike Tyson chat” on Twitter, posting: “Mate @JesseLingard – you’re a 5ft 7in, 128lb stick insect with the muscle power of a neutered Poodle.

“So maybe cut the Mike Tyson chat, yeah?”

Kevin Pietersen saw the funny side and replied with a string of laughing emojis, but many agreed with Lingard saying he “gave an answer most people can relate to”.

Others called for Arsenal fan Morgan to challenge Lingard to a charity boxing match in reference to Justin Bieber’s recent plea with Tom Cruise to join him in the octagon for a UFC fight.

One called on UFC president Dana White to “make it happen,” tweeting: “Piers vs Lingard!”

Another wrote: “I’d pay good money to see @JesseLingard chin @piersmorgan. Question is, which one would he go for?”

A third wrote: “Everyone hoping for a double knock out, rocky style.”

The England international has yet to reply to Morgan, but it’s not the first time the pair have heckled each other on Twitter.

Morgan told Lingard to “enjoy the bench” after Alexis Sanchez moved to Manchester United at the beginning of 2018.

Commenting on Lingards “welcome” tweet, Morgan replied: “He’s taking your place sunshine, enjoy the bench.”

Lingard hit back: “Yo Piers you wanna come out here.”
