Piers Morgan certainly didn't hold back when he interviewed Jason Cundy on Good Morning Britain today (June 25).

The former footballer was appearing on the ITV show to argue about women commentating on football, saying he didn't like their "high pitched voices".

And in a rare moment of agreement, Piers and co-host Susanna Reid were on the same side as they argued against Jason.

"My only criteria, Jason, is not that they're male or female, it's do they know what they're talking about," Piers said.

"Your annoyance appears to be about that they have too pitchy voices, considering yours is just as pitchy. Doesn't that make you a sexist pig?!"

But the ex-Chelsea star defended himself, saying: "It's nothing to do with her insight, the way she delivers or her knowledge, or her ability to do the job, it's the voice.

"For 90 minutes I would prefer to listen to a male voice.

"It's like, would you rather listen to Ed Sheeran or Celine Dion?"

But Piers wouldn't hear his reasoning, saying: "Jason, you're sounding ridiculous!"

He then said that there are many male commentators who have "incredibly annoying voices" adding: "Like yourself! You're one of them!"

The row came shortly after Piers was slammed on social media for his interview with Love Island star Rosie Williams.

He was accused of belittling the lawyer after asking her why she had given up her career to appear on the ITV2 show.

Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV.
