Yahoo News Piers Morgan criticised for 'bullying' Marin Cilic
Piers Morgan blasted Marin Cilic on Good Morning Britain today (July 17).
The presenter ripped into the tennis star for crying during his Wimbledon final match against Roger Federer.
He had sustained an injury during the game and later revealed his foot was covered in painful blisters, which prevented him from playing to the best of his ability.
When he was then beaten by Federer, Cilic was seen bursting into tears – a reaction Piers evidently didn't approve of.
Commenting on the star's emotional outburst, the presenter called Cilic pathetic and said he should "man up" and not cry about losing.
He also asked if Cilic was being honest about the pain he was in and hinted that the tears were more to do with the fact that he had lost the game.
Those tuning in at home were horrified by Piers' brutal comments – particularly after the backlash he's received recently about his attitude towards mental health.
Viewers watching at home slammed him on Twitter afterwards, where one wrote: "The intimidation voiced by Piers Morgan is despicable. I find his arrogant morning banter vile. Definitely going back to BBC News."
Another then posted: "@GMB Piers. You are such a bully!! Have some empathy for Cilic. You are acting like a big horrible kid in the playground. It's not about."

Moments later, a third viewer tweeted: "@GMB piers Morgan don't be so nasty lol there could be many reasons why he cried you shouldn't make fun its not very adult of u @piersmorgan."
Shortly afterwards, another commented: "Piers is sounding like a school room bully . He is too quick to judge."
A fifth added: "@GMB I think Piers is being unfair. People cry for different reasons. He could have been emotional for any reason. Real men cry. Who cares."
