Piers Morgan donates President Donald Trump's sweets to child living with terminal cancer to help her 'collect memories'

Piers Morgan has donated a box of President Donald Trump’s sweets to a child living with terminal cancer.

Morgan, 53, interviewed Mr Trump onboard his world famous plane Air Force One for Good Morning Britain where he picked up a personalised packet of M&Ms.

Morgan gave up the keepsake to 10-year-old Jess Shepherd who is “collecting memories” after being diagnosed with terminal Neuroblastoma.

Speaking on Monday morning’s show he said: “Just had a tweet here – I’d like to send some of those M&Ms to a girl called Jess. She’s had cancer, she’s ten years old and there’s no further treatment available for her. So making memories now is all we have left.

“Yes. Let’s do that. We’re going to send these M&Ms to Jess and we hope that she likes those.”

Co-host Susanna Reid added: “You’re a fighter Jess. And we send you a massive hug.”

A campaign called Roar for Jess was launched online last year in a bid to raise money for Jess to undergo treatment in the US. Funds have since been used to help Jess “make some magical memories with her brother and sister”.

Several celebrities have reached out to Jess, including Katy Perry who dedicated her hit song Roar to her at a concert in June.

Perry tweeted: “I [see] you, @RoarForJess, and I [heart] you, and I’m singing this one for you tonight!”

US singer Meghan Trainor also reached out to Jess, calling her a “hero”.

She tweeted: “Dear @RoarForJess you are the prettiest little princess! I wish I could hug you right now! You are truly my hero. I love you sweet Jess #RoarForJess.”

Other stars who have sent messages of support include Zoe Ball and Laurence Fox. Jess’ family are appealing to Ariana Grande to contact them.
