Piers Morgan was once again furious on Good Morning Britain today (July 26).

The presenter had been looking forward to interviewing activist Rachel Dolezal on the programme.

However, she never turned up for her scheduled slot and Piers has a theory why...

Visibly fuming, the host shared the news with viewers. He said: "Well, we were going to be interviewing Rachel Dolezal, who is the quite infamous American woman who is white, born to white parents, but identifies as black, which is utterly ridiculous.

"We were looking forward to talking to her about her identify – she's written a book – but she's done a runner. She couldn't stand the heat so she got out of the kitchen before we even put the kettle on – to torture that metaphor. My apologies.

"I think we know why you didn't want to talk about this, don't we? It's because you're not black, you're white, and I was going to say to you, 'Why do you pretend to be black when you're white?'

"It is actually incredibly offensive and very insulting. And I think that's why you've done a runner, so my apologies to our viewers looking forward to that debate. I think Rachel is now identifying as a coward."

As of yet, Rachel hasn't responded to Piers' claims.

However, just a few months ago, she did appear on ITV's breakfast show Lorraine.

After overhearing she had cancelled her appearance on Good Morning Britain, presenter Lorraine Kelly told Piers to try to reschedule her for the show.

"She is fascinating – it's a real shame she's not coming in," the host said. "Maybe you can look at rescheduling?"

After Piers' outburst this morning, we're not too sure Rachel will consider the invitation, to be honest...

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am.
