Piers Morgan praised after offering to 'skin' trophy hunter alive

Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan threatened to ‘skin’ a guest alive during a heated debate about trophy hunting on Tuesday (December 4).

Steve Jones from Safari Club International joined Piers Morgan and his co-host Susanna Reid on the show to discuss the campaign against trophy hunting.

Jones tried to argue that hunting is crucial to keeping species alive, stating: “If you look at countries like Kenya, which banned hunting in 1977 and have since then seen a 70% decline in wild species, because it’s not being funded.”

However, Morgan was left furious when Jones said British people bring back dead lions and elephants from Africa because “they enjoy it”.

Morgan then went on rant, asking Jones if he’d like it if he tracked him down, shot him in the back and then skinned him alive.

“I might enjoy spearing you in the back and putting your body on the wall in the studio,” said Morgan.

“Would you like it if I tracked you down after you leave the studio, put a bow and arrow in you, skin you alive and put you on the wall here? Would you like that just because I enjoy it? Maybe I would enjoy it Steve! So why shouldn’t I?”

Viewers were overwhelming in support of the presenter, with one person writing on Twitter: I never thought I would see the day where I agree with piers Morgan practically giving someone a verbal abuse but this guy deserves it….. Trophy hunting is disgusting & should be banned!!!!”

Another viewer wrote: “When Piers Morgan fights on the ethical side he’s a real boon for good. Game hunting is a scummy thing to do. Decks are always stacked and what’s the payoff ? A trophy that wasn’t earned with any real effort and one less beautiful thing in the world.”
