Piers Morgan reveals he will boycott National Television Awards due to feud with David Walliams

Piers Morgan has confirmed that he has no plans to attending the National Television Awards after taking Umbridge with the show's new present, David Walliams, saying that the Britain's Got Talent judge "made his skin crawl". Chatting to the Mirror, he said: "There's no point when the same people win the same awards ever year. I'd rather stay at home and watch Groundhog Day and the host David Walliams makes my skin crawl."

Piers won't be attending this year

David and Piers are clearly not the best of friends, having previously argued on Twitter. Piers previously called the comedian a "snivelling toady", tweeting: "Amusing that @davidwalliams regularly ‘likes’ the nastiest tweets about me, yet is such a snivelling toady to my face. It’s not my fault @BGT ratings were so much higher when I was in your chair Dave!" David has yet to respond to Piers' comments.

Piers complained about David presenting the show

The NTAs are due to take place on Tuesday night, where Ant and Dec will be up for the Best Presenter award for the 19th time. Speaking about winning the award, which is voted for by the public, every year, Ant explained: "For a millisecond we feel bad," before Dec added: "Rarely do we feel bad for the others. It's a dog eat dog in the entertainment world!" Ant also said: "With everything that has happened in my personal life, I just wasn’t sure people would still vote." Dec agreed, replying: "It was a really lovely message from the audience just to back us and say we're still with you."

Graham Norton also joked about the pair always winning the award on a documentary celebrating the show's 25th anniversary, saying: "To begin with you thought, 'Ooh maybe this year,' but now it’s quite nice as it takes the pressure off, you know not to prepare a speech or even wear trousers as you won’t be standing up in public."
