Piers Morgan has reignited his feud with the Beckhams, saying he has never understood why people are attracted to David.

The TV star, 53, took aim at the ex-sportsman while discussing his new hair style on Tuesday's Good Morning Britain.

Beckham debuted a thicker and darker head of hair in Hong Kong on Monday where he was giving a speech as global brand ambassador for insurance firm AIA.

Clearly unimpressed by his new barnet, Morgan said: “What does he look like? Dear oh dear. Honestly. I’ll never get the attraction of Beckham. Quite extraordinary.”

Susanna Reid proceeded to point out his positive traits as she defended the father-of-four against her co-star’s acerbic tongue.

“He’s a charming, handsome man who is a model,” she said. “Fronts lots of campaigns. Extremely talented footballer. What’s to hate about him? I don’t get it. Jealousy?”

Morgan replied: “Jealousy? I actually can’t think of any public figure I’d rather less be than David Beckham. I met him once for about 20 minutes in Soho House in Los Angeles but we didn’t really gel.”

Beckham fell victim to a heavy trolling online as fans asked “what the Dickens” he has done to his hair.

His fuller look comes weeks after he was spotted looking thin on top while holidaying in Miami.

He recently sparked speculation he had undergone a hair transplant, but a representative for the star told The Sun it “was a matter of privacy whether it’s false or true”.

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am
