'Pit Bull-type' dog attack leaves woman injured

A woman was left with a 'nasty injury' after being attacked by 'Pit Bull-type' dog while out walking in Nuneaton. Police say that the dog initially went for her dog as they walked in the wooded area near Hillcrest Road, Camp Hill.

The woman stepped in and that is when the brown and white ‘pit bull type’ dog attacked her. Officers said it left her with a 'nasty injury'.

Now they are keen to trace the owner of the dog as well as any witnesses in the area between 1.30pm and 2pm on Friday, May 24. They have urged anyone with any information to come forward.

PC Tamburro from Warwickshire Police said: "This attack left the woman with a nasty injury to her hand. We’ve carried out enquiries locally and we’re now keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack or who can help us identify the dog and its owner."

Anyone with information is being urged to call 101 quoting incident 99 of May 25. Details can also be passed onto the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
