Pitbull sends his private jet to help transfer cancer patients from hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico

It has been revealed that bighearted rapper Pitbull has been using his personal private jet to transfer cancer patients from hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico to the US so that they can continue with their life-saving treatment.

The entire island of Puerto Rico has been left without electricity since Hurricane Maria hit last week, with the devastation being described as a humanitarian disaster by officials.

Pitbull, real name Armando Christian Perez, has been privately carrying out his huge act of generosity, with it only being made public when Puerto Rico congresswoman Jenniffer Gonzalez thanked him for his help on Twitter.

She wrote: “Thank you @pitbull for lending your private plane to move cancer patients from PR to USA so that they can get chemo.”

Responding, Pitbull said: “Thank God we’re blessed to help. Just doing my part.”

As well as power, millions of Puerto Ricans are struggling for basic necessities, such as food and water.

Jennifer Lopez recently donated $1million in aid for the island, urging others to help if they can.

She said in a statement: “What’s foremost in my mind and many others, is trying to figure out the best way to help.

“Our island of Puerto Rico has been hit by two of the most devastating hurricanes we’ve ever seen: Irma and Maria. Today, Puerto Rico needs our help.

“I urge you to support and donate to the efforts of the first lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rossello.”

As well as J-Lo and Pitbull, celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ricky Martin, and Marc Antony have donated to help the island and urged their fans to do the same.
