Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have put their mansion in the French Quarter in New Orleans up for sale.

The couple bought the three-storey property for $3.5m in 2007 after Hurricane Katrina.

According to the listing with Latter & Blum Realtors, the 1830s-era mansion has 7,645 square feet, five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a swimming pool and guest house.

The property, which is in "excellent condition", is on the market for $6.5m (£4.2m).

The couple purchased the house after Pitt established the Make It Right Foundation to build sustainable homes for people in need.

Around 80% of New Orleans flooded during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 with some areas left under over four metres of water.
