Pizza smothered in lip-smacking tomato sauce and gooey cheese is always a winner — especially when it’s free.

To mark the launch of Pizza Pilgrims City, the doughy giants will be giving away free pizza at the new branch on Monday October 1.

There will be 2,000 slices of margherita pizza on offer and they will be served from their famous Piaggio Apé van parked outside the new Tower 42 address.

Customers will be able to get their hands on a free pizza slice from midday.

Pizza Pilgrims City officially opens to the public on the first of October and to mark the event the restaurant will be launching an all-new menu, featuring items like the Bread Zepplin garlic bread, the Double Pepperoni Pizza and the Pesto Datterini (made with yellow tomatoes and buffalo stracciatella).

It will also use a new fermented pizza dough, which is proved twice for 48 hours to create an airy, light texture.

Pizza Pilgrims is also set to open a new site in London Bridge in early November.
