New pizza restaurant offering 'authentic taste of Italy' to open at Cambridge housing development
A new pizza restaurant could be opening its doors at a Cambridge development later this year. La Pizzica recently put forward a licensing application to the city council.
The venue is due to open at Eddington Square this autumn. It is described as bringing 'an authentic taste of Italy' with traditional Neapolitan pizzas and selection of desserts to enjoy both eating in and taking away.
The restaurant will be located at Unit 4 of the development. Opening hours for the venue are set from 11am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and until 10pm on Sundays, with alcohol also being sold during these times.

La Pizzica will be run by the Valente family, who are originally from Diamante - a small coastal town in Italy. It has been named after a southern Italian folk dance, also known as Tarantella, which traditionally celebrates community.
The restaurant will be the latest food and drink based business to open at Eddington, following on from pub The Astronomer, coffee shop Dulcedo Social, and cocktail bar Dutch. It will also join other facilities on the development, including thousands of new homes, with the vision of "offering a high quality of life to enhance both the City and University of Cambridge".
A decision on the application will be made by Cambridge City Council at a later date. To view the plans in full, visit the licensing portal here.
