Would you like fries with that? Restaurant creates 'pizzaburger' hybrid containing 1,360 calories
The 'frankenburger' concept features a cheeseburger wrapped in a pizza - and it contains half a man's daily calorie allowance
Some would say it's the inevitable merging of two of the greatest foods ever created.
The 'pizzaburger' is a new mega-calorific meal which features a bacon cheeseburger wrapped in a pepperoni pizza.
The 'frankenburger' concept contains a whopping 1,360 calories - over half the daily allowance for men - and is garnished with lettuce, pickle and tomato.
Launched by Boston's Restaurant and Sports Bar, the monster snack also contains 2,000 milligrams of sodium - and its owners are under no illusions about the healthiness of the pizzaburger.
Brad Bevill, vice president of marketing for the chain, told USA Today: 'We're not pretending that it's a healthy product.
'You're talking about a hamburger and pizza wrapped together.'
The burger is cooked in a pizza pan along with an uncooked pizza, before being wrapped in the pizza and cooked in the oven.
The calorific food sells for $10.29 at Boston's Restaurant and Sports Bar. It also comes in another variety, the 'Five Cheese' pizzaburger.
A spokesperson added: 'They wanted to do something fun and creative, and asked "what if the pizza and the burger had a baby?"'
