A Place in the Sun buyer 'didn't hold back' in 'cheeky' comment to host Craig Rowe

A couple on A Place in the Sun made a "cheeky" comment to host Craig Rowe after the search for their ideal property in Spain. Claire and Simon dreamt of owning a second property abroad, as they wanted to start a new adventure. They hoped their wiggle room budget of £230,000 would land them an ideal holiday home.

The Channel 4 presenter, Craig Rowe offered the British couple five properties to choose from in Nerja, Spain. Claire was generally pretty impressed by what Craig had to offer, but also said she wouldn't "hold back when it's not right".

Viewers flooded to social media as Claire's husband Simon struggled to "get a word in" after his wife's vocal opinions on each property. One said: "I now understand why Simon doesn't say much."

When it came to putting an offer in, the couple decided on a duplex apartment which was on the market for just over £209,500. However, they asked Craig to put in a lower offer for them of £185,000. On X, one viewer said it was a "stupid low offer."

This offer was declined, and the property agent came back with a counter offer of £197,000. Claire said: "Oooh, that's cheeky." After a long back and forth between the couple, Craig and the property agent, they finally managed to get to an agreement.

Claire and Simon were happy with a counter offer of just under £193,000, which they felt was appropriate, considering the additional work they wanted to do to revamp the apartment.
