A Place in the Sun's Ben Hillman speechless at buyer's cheeky 'kiss' offer

Ben Hillman experienced a moment of surprise in the latest episode of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, as he guided married couple Sandra and Gary through various potential properties on Spain's Costa Calida.

With £90,000 to spend, the couple were looking for a home with an outdoor space, two bedrooms, and decent kitchen facilities. The final property in their search seemed to exceed their expectations.

They were immediately impressed by the outdoor area, which boasted access to over 20 pools, but it was the price that truly astounded Gary. The Channel 4 host explained: "It is two bedrooms, it's not two bathrooms this time. But, you've probably noticed a little staircase on the side, taking you to a roof terrace."

Gary's reaction was one of disbelief: "I'm flabbergasted, it looks amazing. The surroundings are fantastic."

His astonishment grew when Ben disclosed the property was almost £30,000 below their maximum budget, coming in at just under £61,000, reports the Mirror.

Gary exclaimed: "Steady, what?! Ben, have you ever been kissed on telly?" Ben couldn't help but laugh, responding: "I'm always up for firsts Gary! Bring it on."

Sandra also admitted her shock at the property's price, having assumed it would be over their budget. Their amazement continued indoors, and after touring the property, Ben sought their thoughts. Sandra enthused: "It was great!"

Ultimately, the couple set their sights on the Golf Resort Apartment and chose to make a pitch for it, proposing £58,000 as their opening bid.

The Channel 4 celebrity was tasked with conveying this offer, only to return with the news that it had been declined. However, a counter-proposal of £59,200.11 was on the table.

When asked for their thoughts on the new figure, Sandra cheekily remarked to Gary: "It sounds like you're getting your chequebook out!"
