A Place in the Sun viewers had wildly different opinions about a stand-out home feature.

Leah Charles-King met house hunters Andy and Sarah Bardell who wanted the Channel 4 show to help them find somewhere to live on the Costa Blanca. The former police officer and solider wanted to permanently relocate for a quieter life in the Spanish sun and had £170,000 to make that dream a reality.

Despite a rocky start, the couple had their hearts set on a "perfect" villa that checked all their boxes and more. The villa boasted three bedrooms, a pool perfect for entertaining the grandchildren and a sun-soaked roof terrace that Sarah said was "big enough for their entire family at once".

The Ciudad Quesada villa was said to be in need of some renovations to make things "a bit more modern" but felt "like a proper home" from the beginning with whitewashed walls and "all you'd need" in place already. But, there was one feature that viewers couldn't look beyond.

The exterior was painted light pink, which was identical to the neighbour. For some fans watching at home, that alone would have been a deal breaker.

One fan wrote: "The pink exterior would have to go!". Another said: "Beautiful view, but that pink!" paired the vomiting emoji.

Some viewers saw the colour choice was a real selling point though, with one stating: "A pretty pink house would be stunning!". Another said: "It's giving Barbie vibes!".

The colour was clearly not an issue for Andy and Sarah as the couple were "itching to get inside" when Leah first presented them with the house. The next day they were prepared to negotiate a price for their forever home in the sun.

It was listed on the market for £172,500 but had been waiting for the right family for some time. Andy and Sarah were able to secure their perfect pink house for £163,000.
