A Place in the Sun host forced to apologise as buyers abandon home minutes into search
A Place in the Sun host Leah Charles-King had her work cut out as she faced a ‘disappointing’ start to finding her buyers their dream home.
During Wednesday’s episode of the Channel 4 hit show, Leah was on hand to help best friends Helen and Nikki find their perfect holiday home in Andalucia, Spain.
The house hunters, who have been friends for over 40 years, had a budget of £150,000 for a property that had a minimum of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was also important that it had character and some outdoor space.
The pair were also keen to soak up the culture and wanted a location where they can horse ride all year round. Leah had a huge job on her hands as the duo plan on eventually moving to Spain permanently and Nicki has already sold her home in the UK.

However just minutes into viewing the first property, it wasn’t looking good as Nicki and Helen insisted they didn’t like the home before even stepping foot inside.
The home was on the market for just under £166,500 and had four bedrooms as well as a courtyard garden. It also had a living and dining room and separate kitchen.
Standing outside the property, the duo were not impressed as Helen said: “This is not what we were really looking for.”
Leah attempted to sell the property as she explained: “Why the location here is good is that you are 20 minutes away from the beach and you do have a lovely little town with traditional bars and shopping.”
Turning attention back to the property, Niki explained: “My initial thought is that, when I look out, it reminds me of a holiday camp so it’s not for me and that is not what I want at all.”
The duo were not keen to view the house however Leah managed to convince them to take a look before making their decision.
They only managed to make it through the living room but it wasn’t looking good as Helen said: “This is not what we were looking for at all and it doesn’t have the feel at all. I can’t imagine living space if you have a family and it doesn’t seem to flow right so no.”
Leah asked: “Right so do you want to bother seeing the rest of it?” The duo both insisted: “No, not really.”
Leah was forced to apologise as she replied: “I’m sorry you are disappointed with this but on the positive side I know what you are into and what you are not into.”
Speaking to the camera, Leah added: “Well I’ve had worse starts to house hunts actually scratch that I don’t think I have but to be fair I am a bit disappointed because I thought this house was the one but they weren’t keen on it from the get go.”
