In Tuesday's episode of the popular Channel 4 series, A Place in the Sun, host Lucy Alexander helped Edith and William to find their dream holiday home. From Stirlingshire Scotland, the couple have been together for fifteen years and travelled the world, but one thing they have always wished for is a holiday home in Spain.

Edith and William are now retired, and have put their funds in place with a budget of £130,000 to buy a home in the sunny seaside spot of Torrevieja, to escape the cold Scottish weather in winter. With a large family and six grandchildren, they were looking for a big property with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, access to a pool, and close to amenities. Their main wish was for their grandchildren to be able to come and stay with them and make memories of holidays in the Spanish sun.

William opened up about their granddaughter, Shea, who "can walk, but not very far, and uses a wheelchair". The couple want to take Shea's needs into consideration in their property search, including if the accommodation has stairs and ensuring it is spacious and accessible for their granddaughter.

A Place in the Sun host Lucy Alexander also shared her own similar experience: "So you've got to think about steps and access. I've got a daughter in a wheelchair so I know exactly what you mean". The Channel 4 presenter has a daughter, Kitty, who is in a wheelchair due to a spinal cord injury, that left her paralysed from the waist down.

Later in the episode, Lucy and the couple shared an emotional moment as they talk about wanting to take their grandchildren abroad for the first time. Edith holds back tears: "It's exciting to think that we can actually take them on holiday". Lucy added it is "really special".

Edith and William put an offer in for a property at £120,000 which is accepted. This episode is a re-run from Monday June 10 at 4pm, but was shown again on Channel 4 on Tuesday January 7 at 3pm.
