A Place in the Sun host shocked by couple's 'bombshell' comment

Channel 4 host, Ben Hillman was shocked by a "bombshell" comment made by a couple on A Place in the Sun. He struggled to please Glenda and Adrian, who were looking for their dream holiday home on the Costa del Sol with a budget of £95,000.

The couple wanted a property close to Marbella, which was big enough to have three generations of family come to stay, including their four daughters and their grandchildren. After viewing four properties as part of the search, Ben "couldn't believe" that only one was a contender.

A Place in the Sun fans agreed Glenda and Adrian wanted "everything", which made Ben's search particularly difficult. Taking to social media, one viewer said: "These two are impossible", while another added the couple were "unrealistic."

The Channel 4 host commented on his difficult property search, as he said: "This is not going to be an easy search, they want everything around them and they want all the space, and those two things don't really co exist."

Adrian struggled to find anything positive to say about Ben's options as he "didn't like much" about any of the apartments. One viewer noticed this, as they said: "Basically everything is wrong" for the couple.

Glenda and Adrian struggled to come to terms with having to sacrifice something, whether that be the location or the size of the property. Ben tried to explain the compromise, as he said: "Its a trade off, trying to find that right balance."

But the couple made several unhappy comments to Ben about the distance from the beach, the rooms being too small, as well as the amount of noise in a busy area. However, as the episode came to a close, the couple came to a revelation and "dropped a bombshell" on host, Ben. Glenda said: "We've realised that to get perfect location and the property we need to spend a bit more money."

Ben was speechless, as he'd attempted to express this to the couple throughout the whole search, he said: "Well, you've dropped a bombshell on me there." As a result, Glenda and Adrian did not find an ideal property suitable to them. In the end they decided they needed increase their budget to find exactly what they wanted. A Place in the Sun is on Channel 4 at 6pm.
