A Place in the Sun’s Jonnie Irwin hits back at ‘worst human ever’ over cruel comment

Jonnie Irwin has called a troll the “worst human being” after leaving a cruel comment in regards to his declining health on his social media.

Irwin, 49, tragically revealed last year that he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

The A Place in the Sun star has given regular updates to fans following the sad news, and, on a happier note, shared earlier this week that he was having a photoshoot as he posted an outfit on Instagram.

"Photo shoot tomorrow and new garments arrived bang on time. As ever, all about the layers,” Irwin captioned.

One person had an issue with the TV star’s plans and insensitively commented in response: “Shouldn’t you be spending your final days/weeks with your kids rather than doing all this paid publicity? Just saying.”

Father-of-three Irwin snapped back at the troll as he replied in the comment section that his family had also taken part in the shoot.

Irwin wrote: “It was a shoot WITH my family but just to confirm. You are the worst human being I can imagine meeting.”

The presenter was supported by fans, who dubbed the cruel commentor “appalling” and “wicked”.

One person wrote: “What a terrible thing to say about Jonnie. He is working to provide for his family. How cruel to think this let alone actually print it.”

“This has absolutely disgusted me!” A second fan said.

“They are wicked, evil, vile human beings. You continue to live your life for your family and most importantly for you!

“Whether it was a photoshoot for yourself, with family??? That is your business and no one else’s.”

Irwin spoke about his desire to “make memories” with his wife Jessica Holmes and their three children while he is still here, shortly after revealing his terminal diagnosis in November.

The host told Hello magazine: "I don’t know how long I have left, but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I’m living with cancer, not dying from it.

“I got into the habit of saying: ‘Don’t plan ahead because I might not be well enough.’ But now I want to make plans. I want to capture these moments with my family because the reality is, my boys are going to grow up not knowing their dad.”
