A Place in the Sun viewers slam 'awful' property as buyer admits 'couldn't live here'
A guest on Channel 4's A Place in the Sun struggled to hide her disappointment as she made it quite clear that she couldn't picture herself living in one of the Spanish homes showcased to her.
During Friday's episode (September 20), presenter Lee Juggurnauth returned to help another Brit looking to start anew under the Spanish sun. The spotlight was on Annie, keen for a new beginning in Lanzarote, joined by her granddaughter Mollie for support.
While most of the properties shown by Lee seemed to hit the mark within their budget, Annie wasn't bowled over by the fourth house on the list. She found both the kitchen and the bedrooms at the modest two-story home unappealing.
Expressing her thoughts to Lee after the viewing, Annie commented: "I couldn't see myself living here," further criticising that the kitchen was "too small".
Trying to find the positives, she said: "There is lots of storage space in here, I suppose the only other thing to consider is if this were my bedroom, it is open to the rest of the place and then of course, the bathroom is up here as well."
"I think I'd much rather have somewhere more private," she explained before sharing her disappointment: "It is a shame because the location is so good, isn't it? But it is not the right place, I can't see myself (living) here."

Viewers sided with Annie's judgement, criticising the two-bedroom property as "awful".
Jumping onto X, one viewer concurred, stating: "Don't blame them. That one was b****y horrible," reports the Mirror.
Others chimed in with remarks such as "Pokey, no privacy, awful" and "A load of c**p properties today, in a c**p location."
One observed wryly: "Good job she hasn't got a cat. Couldn't swing one in that kitchen." Despite the array of houses presented, Annie ended the show without making an offer on any of them. Some viewers also expressed their dislike for the general area.
Heading back to Lanzarote, viewers shared their strong opinions on the popular destination featured in A Place in the Sun. One viewer commented: "I wonder if #aplaceinthesun will ever discover that Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise are not the only places in Lanzarote. Most of the island is rural and not resorty at all." (sic)
Another one remarked: "I went to Playa Blanca in 2019. Not a fan."
Yet another added their impression of the island: "Lanzarote always makes me think of the surface of the moon! Definitely not for me."
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4
