A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton issues 'please' plea after growing 'concerned'
A Place in the Sun host Laura Hamilton has issued a plea to her followers. The presenter opened up about somebody impersonating her by making fake social media accounts and trying to con people out of money.
Sharing a video to her large social media following, Laura told fans she had just gotten off the phone with one of her bosses from the Channel 4 show and she is a "little bit concerned". She said: "Somebody, and I'm sure it's more than one person has been creating fake profiles and asking and asking people to part with their money to be part of a special of A Place in the Sun over the festive period."
Laura told followers the person who was received the scam message contacted her boss on the show to ask if it was legit. The 42-year-old property expert added: "It isn't, I only have one Instagram profile it's verified it's got a blue tick, I only have one official Facebook page it's verified it's got a blue tick, I only have one TikTok which I'm new to and only one Twitter.

In a plea to fans, Laura urged them to "Please, please, please don't be scammed by people." In an interview last month with property developer John Reynolds, Laura opened up on her personal life.
She said: "There is quite a bit more to me than people probably realise, I've obviously been a part of A Place in the Sun for 12 coming on 13 years now and I think it's very easy for people to watch that and think she's the girl who goes abroad, she's always in the sun, wears pretty dresses in lovely destinations." but made it clear the job is just one "small part of life."
Reflecting on her childhood and how she climbed the ladder to become the successful businesswoman she is today Laura said she has been an entrepreneur from a very early age. Admitting it was from as "early as seven years old, eight years old" when she decided to convince her brother to set up a car washing business with her.
Laura has had many ventures aside from her most famous A Place in the Sun role. Seven years ago she bought the local village shop and became the post mistress. She also created a coffee shop deli and a restaurant as she wanted to "build a brand" within her community and "give something back"
