Plane Makes Emergency Landing After Wheel Fault

A passenger plane has been forced to make an emergency landing in Tel Aviv after losing a wheel.

The El Al flight, with 170 people on board, was forced to turn back after suffering the fault on take-off.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the plane was instructed to return to Israel's Ben Gurion airport after shreds of its tyre were found on the runway.

The jet, which was en route to Prague, landed smoothly at around 8.15am.

A number of ambulances and fire engines were waiting near the runway for the landing.
