Planes skid from side to side as they land at a snowy Birmingham Airport during Storm Arwen

Snow ploughs work furiously to remove sleet and ice from the Storm Arwen hit Birmingham Airport. Aircraft were seen skidding from side to side as they landed at the West Midlands airport in England after snow hit the region overnight. Storm Arwen has claimed two lives as the strong winds gave a rare red weather warning in the North West of the UK. The ploughs shifted waves of snow off the runway onto the grass verges.
