The next stage of plans to build a new housing development in a Cambridgeshire town has been unveiled. A reserved matters application for 286 homes for land near Grange Lane in Littleport was put forward by Grange Lane LLP in January 2025.

The plans include a mixture of property types and sizes – including 15 one-bed flats, six two-bed maisonettes, 92 two-bed houses, 113 three-bed houses and 60 four-bed houses. Also included in the proposals are 34 self-build unit plots, a mixed-use building that includes three retail units, public open space, play areas and associated infrastructure.

Outline plans for the overall development were given the green light in January 2020. This was followed by reserved matters approval for the first phase of the development, which included details for 360 of the homes in January 2022.

A design and access statement for the application said that the scheme provides "a good mix of accommodation". It also said the site would provide the "delivery of much needed affordable and market sale housing" as well as "develop a high quality network of public open space".

A decision on the application will be made by East Cambridgeshire District Council. To view the plans in full, use the reference 25/00098/RMM or visit the planning portal here.
