New playground opening in Birmingham Bullring and boss is 'beyond excited'
A new augmented gaming 'playground' is set to open at the Bullring this week. Lane7, the bowling alley and games venue on Link Street between the Bullring and Grand Central, is launching Playground, an augmented gaming experience where players physically dodge obstacles, solve puzzles and compete as they 'bring the excitement of retro gaming into the physical world'.
Playground was created by Canadian multimedia studio Moment Factory and has been inspired by nostalgic classical video games. It says the technology 'blurs the lines between the digital and physical realms'.
The Playground will welcome visitors from Thursday, November 28 and it promises to be 'groundbreaking' and 'the future of gaming'. There are three difficulty settings to accommodate different players.
