Playing With the Big Boys: Flamingo Chick Integrates With Adults at Denver Zoo

Denver Zoo’s newest Chilean flamingo chick has begun integrating with adults at the zoo’s flamingo enclosure three months after hatching, video released by the zoo on January 3 shows.

According to the zoo, the Chilean flamingo chick, born on October 21, has until now been hand-reared by staff indoors.

“Recently, this big boy made a trip over to our winter flamingo habitat, and spent the day getting to know the adults. He’s still a little too little to be there full time, but it’s only a matter of time,” the zoo wrote on Facebook. Credit: Denver Zoo via Storyful
