A Plymouth cafe owner has made a “difficult decision" to put her business up for sale. Owner Laura Ashton says she feels it is the right time to put The Olive Branch on the market.

Laura updated followers on her Facebook page that she would be looking to leave the business, but said running the Oreston cafe has been “the best three years” of her life.

She announced how she plans to continue trading until someone new takes on the cafe and has encouraged customers to “still pop down" to the Plymstock Road venue.

Posting on The Olive Branch Facebook page yesterday, Laura wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to put The Olive Branch up for sale. Due to personal circumstances and the cost of living, I feel it is the right time for myself and my family.

“It has honestly been the best three years of my life. I have met so many wonderful people and have made friends for life. I don’t expect things to change for quite a while so please still pop down and see us and of course I will keep everyone updated if we have any interest.

"If you wouldn’t mind sharing the advert for me that would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much.”

The businesses annual leasehold cost is advertised for £15,000. The listing, on Marketplace, reads: "Here is our highly loved family run cafe The Olive Branch situated in Oreston Plymstock.

"Due to personal circumstances we have made the difficult decision to put it up for sale. For the past three years I have run The Olive Branch myself with part time staff members.

"The Olive Branch has a good customer base locally and from near by towns. The Olive Branch has 16-18 covers which is inside seating only. It has been equipped with a commercial kitchen, more details on viewing or by telephone.

"It has one customer toilet. All 5 star rated reviews on Google and Facebook. 5 star rated Food Hygiene certificate. The current rent is £750 PCM and had a remaining 7 years left on the lease.

"The annual turnover is approx £130,000 per annum based on a 5 day week but there is scope to open 7 days a week. It would be an ideal concern for a couple or a couple of friends looking to start a new business."

The Olive Branch is still open - and decked out for the festive season. Laura is interested in hearing from anyone who may be keen to take the premises on in the near future.
