This year’s Plymouth Santa Fun Run is less than two weeks away - and the excitement is building. Organised by Saltram Rotary, and supported by Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, the festive event, all entrants receive a free Santa Suit (included with their entry fee).

Participants of all ages are invited to don their Santa suits and enjoy the fun run, jolly jog, or wonderful walk of either a 2.5km or 5km route through the city’s beautiful waterfront all to support local charities Jeremiah’s Journey and Shekinah.

The festive run will be held on Sunday December 8, starting and finishing on the Barbican, those entering should meet at 11am on Southside Street (on the Barbican). This year, the Plymouth Life Centre team will be providing the warm-up at the start of the Santa Fun Run.

As a special Christmas treat, all participants will receive a festive seven-day all-inclusive pass to the Plymouth Life Centre after they cross the finish line – the pass can then be unwrapped anytime up to January 31 2025.

The organisers said: “Don’t delay, register today there’s not long to go!”

Jon Walton, CEO at Plymouth Waterfront Partnership said: "We're excited to bring back this hugely popular fun run in partnership with Saltram Rotary to support two beloved local charities: Jeremiah's Journey and Shekinah.

"Why not make the most of the day and once you've completed the run, jog or walk spend some time on the Barbican soaking up the festive atmosphere and supporting local businesses. I thoroughly enjoyed running it last year and will be doing so again! "

The Plymouth Santa Fun Run helps worthwhile charities as participants will help to raise money for and enhance the profiles of Jeremiah’s Journey and Shekinah.

The entry fee is a donation to these charities and other charities supported by Rotary, but this is "partly offset by costs including the Santa Suits, road closure fees and medical cover".

The event's website explains: “The Santa Run is designed to be a fun event whilst at the same time raising money for those less fortunate than ourselves.

"So, please help us by firstly participating and secondly getting all your friends and family to sponsor you. Better still would be for them to participate as well and raise their own sponsorship money.”

You can register for this year’s Santa Fun Run here.

All entrants receive a FREE Santa Suit and finishing medal as part of the entry fee.
