Pod of Blue Whales Swim Meters Away From Western Australia Coast in Gorgeous Footage

A photographer in Western Australia captured drone footage of four majestic blue whales just off the coast of Margaret River.

Dylan DeHaas was out exploring on his boat when he heard the familiar sound of a whale spouting, which he thought was “just another humpback whale.”

DeHaas said, “I launched my drone to check it out. To my amazement, I saw a pod of four blue whales!”

DeHaas described the event as being “incredibly rare.” He told Storyful that blue whales are “usually a sole migrator and only seen far out to sea. It was incredible to see them only 200 meters off the beach!” Credit: Dylan DeHaas via Storyful
