Poignant Stoke City tribute to fan Tom, 21, ahead of funeral

Stoke City have this afternoon paid a poignant tribute to a 21-year-old fan. The funeral of Tom Grindey takes place this afternoon and the cortege visited the bet365 Stadium ahead of arriving at Carmountside Crematorium.

A number of well-wishers stood in front of the stadium main entrance as the cortege went passed by. The funeral service and cremation was at Carmountside Cramatorium from 2pm.

Tom, from Trentham, died in an A34 crash earlier this month. It happened on the southbound carriageway between the Trentham Estate and Trentham Monkey Forest roundabouts.
