Pokémon fans rejoice: there are just a few months to go until the highly-anticipated Pokémon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are released.
Just like previous Pokémon games, Scarlet and Violet will let players train, trade, and battle their Pokémon.
But these are the first open-world reole-playing games in the series, and fans will also be introduced to a new region, new characters, and of course, new Pokémon.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release date
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are available to pre-order from Nintendo, for £49.99 each.
PokémonScarlet and Violet starter Pokémon and exclusives
The three Pokémon players will be able to choose their first partner from are: Sprigatito (grass), Fuecoco (fire), and Quaxly (water).
Scarlet’s exclusive Pokémon is Koraidon while Violet’s exclusive Pokemon is Miraidon.
Players will be able to ride these Legendary Pokémon, who can change their forms based on the terrain, meaning they can both fly and ride across water.
Professor Sada will feature in Scarlet, while Violet will introduce players to Professor Turo. Both are researching the region’s lore, which players are sure to be called upon to help with.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet new Pokemon
The new games will introduce players to a number of new Pokémon.
The instant fan-favourite is Fidough, a Puppy Pokémon made out of bread, with bagels for ears. This adorable Fairy-type Pokémon breathes yeast and puffs up its body to intimidate opponents–and Pokemon fans can’t wait to meet them.
Scarlet and Violet will also introduce Pawmi, an Electric Mouse Pokémon, Lechonk, a Normal Hog Pokémon, Smoliv, a Grass/Normal Olive Pokémon, Cetitan, an Ice Terra Whale Pokémon, and Paldean Whopper, a Poison/Ground Poison Fish Pokémon.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet region
The new games are set in the Paldea region, which Nintendo describes as “a land of vast open spaces dotted with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, and perilous mountain ranges.”
The variety of locations include “a farming village with bountiful harvests to a port town with a bustling marketplace.”
