Poland says Tusk's reappointment shows cracks in the EU

WARSAW (Reuters) - The European Union leaders' decision on Thursday to reappoint Poland's Donald Tusk as President of the European Council raises questions over the bloc's unity, a spokeswoman for Poland's ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party said.

The PiS government strongly opposed the reappointment of Tusk, who is closely tied with the centrist opposition in Poland.

"We should ask whether the EU can remain united, or whether this situation will not lead to the leaders of individual member states having little say," Beata Mazurek told reporters.
