Police found £100,000 worth of drugs after stopping a car on the A500. Officers had pulled over the silver Audi A5 on the D-road near Audley on Tuesday morning.

And cops went on to find several bags of cannabis stuffed in the boot. However the driver didn't hang around and ran across nearby fields off Park Lane.

Now officers with the road crime team say they are 'proactively working to trace the driver'. The vehicle was stopped at 10.50am on October 29 and cops say it was not insured.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "We have seized the car and are examining it forensically as part of our continuing enquiries. We are also working proactively to trace the driver."

Witnesses should call the force on 101 and quote incident 194 of October 29.
