Police annoyed some drivers continue to do this stupid thing on flood hit roads
Frustrated police have told drivers to stop ignoring road closure warnings on flood hit roads. North Wales has seen a spate of road closures over the weekend, with north west Wales worst affected yesterday and fresh closures in north east Wales today.
Most drivers will sensibly respect the warnings and either not travel or find an alternative route. But a minority will chance it in the hope they will get through safely.
But police say they and other emergency services have had to attend a number of stranded vehicles after motorists ignored signage. Announcing a recent road closure of Cefn Road - between Redwither Lane and Wrexham Industrial Estate - they warned they would be patrolling and enforcing the vehicle ban.

The Wrexham Rural policing team said: "The road is closed for your safety. Please do not ignore these road closures. Officers have been called to several stranded vehicles in this area so far today which could easily have been avoided had drivers obliged with signage.
"Rota 4 Patrol Officers are in the area and enforcing closures across Wrexham today in order to keep the public safe and prevent unnecessary demand on the emergency services." Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter sent twice daily to your inbox
