Police appeal after 'illegal taxi' spotted operating in Belfast city centre at weekend

Police have issued an appeal for information after an "illegal taxi" was spotted operating in Belfast city centre over the weekend.

Officers said they received a number of reports into an illegal taxi operating in the Bridge Street area in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, July 7.

Police are appealing for anyone with further information to get in touch.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI added: "Enquiries are continuing, and police would encourage anyone with any concerns over the operation of illegal taxis to make a report via 101, or contact Crimestoppers.

"You can also make a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport."
