Police appeal for information following attempted murder in Paisley

Police are appealing for information following an attempted murder in Paisley.

Officers were called to George Street around midnight last night when a man was found unresponsive.

Emergency services attended and the man, aged 40, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Enquiries are ongong and officers are appealing for anyone with any information which may assist with the investigation to get in touch.

“If you have doorbell cameras, private CCTV or a dashcam, please review your footage and bring anything of significance to our attention.

“We would also like to speak to those who assisted officers in locating the injured man. If you have not spoken to officers yet, please contact us.”

A heavy police presence remains at the scene while properties between 21 and 25 George Street continue to be cordoned off.
